Sometimes – not every time, nor indeed all that often, butsometimes– I experience visions when I come. They are brief, intense, and often startlingly real. They last no more than a couple of seconds, but in those couple of seconds they take me to some wildly exotic places.
For posterity, I’m recording my most interesting orgasmic visions here. And I’m also throwing out some questions into the great big maw of the internet.
I have no idea how common it is to experience these kinds of visions. Is it just me? Does it happen to everyone occasionally? And what is it that other people see when they come? If you have some insight on any of those things,do tell. It’s something that I’ve been curious about for years.
Lightning
When I reach the brink of orgasm I see a deep blue sky, a dark ridge, heavy clouds with flashes and forks of lightning glowing inside. It lingers there for several moments, then sweeps in. At the moment of ejaculation I feel the lightning inside my body, in my cells, in my fingertips. I see the afterimage of it behind my eyes.
Merging
When I come I feel for a moment as though I have dissolved completely. My partner too. We’ve become jelly, ooze, insubstantial gaseous bodies, and we are mingling. Our cells are mixing. I feel, very distinctly, myself slipping into them. My field of vision atomises, and for a moment it is impossible to tell who or what or where I am.
God
Sometimes – usually when masturbating – I experience an orgasm as a feeling of being squeezed tightly but lovingly in a massive hand. In the moment I am sure that the hand is god. I’m an atheist, but the certainty is complete and pervasive nonetheless. Sometimes I see the being in question. He is silvery and mostly featureless, and everything around him is washed out by bright white light.
Hillside
In the moments after coming I have the overwhelming impression of rain. I can smell it. Feel it on my skin. Everything I see appears as if I’m looking at it through a foggy window. Sometimes I note the impression of green grass, a wet hillside, rocks and sky. This lasts only for a moment, but the feeling of rain on my skin persists for a surprisingly long time.
Boat
My partner and I are on a boat. I can feel the deck moving beneath us. At the moment of orgasm the boat dissolves and sinks, breaking apart, lowering us into water that is warm and calm. We float downwards. I can see blue, and bubbles, and somewhere above us the ghost of where the ship used to be.
