Most doctors do not recommend that pregnant women stop having sex because the fetus is deep inside the uterus and is protected by the uterus, fetal membranes and amniotic fluid. Sexual intercourse does not pose a risk to the fetus. However, if it is confirmed that there is placenta previa (placenta is too close to the cervix), cervical incomplete closure, or recurrent miscarriage or premature birth, vaginal bleeding, etc., sexual intercourse should be avoided and handled with caution.
