It depends on from which angle you look at it.
If you look at it from teenager’s perspective, you obviously want it to be as low as possible.
If you look at it from perspective of physical and mental development, it definitely should be around or after a puberty… which cannot be categorized due to significant difference between people.
If you look at it from legal perspective, it depends on the country you live in.
Where I live, when you turn 15, you’re not considered as a child anymore but as an adolescent and thus you can have sex with anyone you want (you also get ID, some legal power but you also can be fully prosecuted)
There should be two parts as some countires already have… general age of consent (you can have sex with anyone you want of any age) and for younger limiting their “partners” age.
In my opinion, I would keepage of 15(beginning with the the day AFTER your 15th bday)as general age of consentas we have here and then for younger people, if you’d be12+, you could have sex with anyone who’s 12–15(beginning with the the day AFTER your 12th bday and ending with the last day you’re 15 y/o)
…OR unless you’re in a relationship(this would have to be more specified)with that person(and both parties can confirm that)and is not older than 3 years from you.
Why the need for that appendix you ask? Well, imagine you’re in a strong relationship since you’re e.g. 12 y/o with someone who’s 2 years older than you… you’re both in the category for “younger” so you can have sex… but then your partner/lover turns 16 and you’re both fucked, literally… you’d then have to wait until you turn 15 to have sex with him/her again…
The problem is with the information (you know, the 18+ cliché) and if you actually follow all the rules, the complete lack of it… and even if it would be globally implemented, there would be still a lot of people who would judge you for e.g. buying condoms when you’re 13 y/o.
But a good point is… what if an “accident” happens…
If you’re e.g. 17, you’re still not “majority” but you’re fairly able to care about the child (as I saw with 3 my friends/acquitances) and usually country affer you some help if you need it. IF you’d be e.g. 13 or 14 and have a child… well… then it gets kinda complicated and even the birth itself would be very risky.
So what to do it those cases?
automatic abortion unless you’re XY y/o?
Or the kid will be taken from you by Social services unless you’re XY y/o and placed into foster family or children&39;s home?
Or the parents will be assigned as a guardians with full legal power until the biological (teenage) mother will reach the age of majority and get legal power to decide about the child herself?
…and what about the biological (teenage) father?
Would he had to pay an alimony or something like that?
Would he be able to talk to raising a child in case the kid would stay with the mother or legal guardians?
Would he have any rights to that child in the first place? Like shared custody, etc.
I don’t know aswer to those question cause different parents of different age from differetnt places would feel differently about it. Some womes/girls would immediately want an abortion even they’d be e.g. 17, some would go crazy… literally… if the child would be taken from them even in age of e.g. 14
